The Intentional Immigrants aims to:
Inspire.
Motivate.
Encourage.
Everyone by highlighting immigrant business owners and people of influence born elsewhere and making an impact in the new country – Canada, United States of America, England, and other countries. “Born there, making an impact here”.
We focus on immigrants and their stories of challenges and triumphs. We provide a voice for them in order to encourage and empower others on their journey.
Additionally, organizations dedicated to assisting and empowering immigrants will also be featured.
What’s behind the name “Intentional Immigrants”?
One day in my devotion, the thought came to me, “what is it that makes some immigrants do well, while others seem to be faltering and struggling?
“What if there was a platform for the “successful” ones to speak to those who are struggling. Those in need of inspiration, motivation or encouragement”?
“How can I seek to empower those who have lost their drive and are just existing?”
We have all heard the stories. John and Pam immigrates to a new country. They make a lot of sacrifices. Such as having two or more jobs. Retooling by going back to school for a new career path. A couple of years later, they have a car, or two cars, a business or have risen up the ranks in their field. From the looks of things, we may say, John and Pam are successful.
Jim and Jill on the other hand, have lived in their new country for years, even decades. They have nothing to show for having lived in the new country. No material possession. In fact, they feel stuck, stagnant. Everyday they question their decision to migrate. They are not having a good time. They are lost and floundering.
Purpose
The Intentional Immigrants podcast and channel allows John and Pam to share their experiences with Jim and Jill. John and Pam are able to share their stories of struggles, challenges overcame and lessons learnt. By connecting, listeners have access to a collection of forerunners – people like themselves who have migrated and are willing to shine a light along the path in order that the Johns and Pams can see a different way of doing things.
Your current situation is never permanent. Let my guests take your hand, help you to stand and imagine possibilities.
Firstly, success looks different for everyone. By engaging with Intentional Immigrants, I give you permission to define and create your own meaning of success.
Secondly, my hope is to empower you with resources and strategies, so that you will dust off those buried dreams, move into action to fulfill and march into your purpose.
Thirdly, it is not going to be easy, but that’s okay. Fulfillment of all visions and dreams take hard work. Living with intention takes effort.
Finally, irrespective of your dreams and visions for your life, I want you to be inspired, motivated, encouraged and empowered by learning from those who have walked in your shoes. They are saying “This is what I did, but here’s a better way”

Uprooted
Moving is hard work. That’s one fact that we can all agree on. Relocating from one part of your native country is hard enough. How about leaving everything and everyone behind? Wow, that’s mind blowing! For instance, in our home country (or back home), we took so much for granted. Things such as how the system work, going to the doctor, where the bus or train stations are, the process to get a license, passport etc.
Imagine moving to a whole a new world. A place where you do not know anyone. A place where you can feel like “a fish out of water”. In addition, you have to quickly learn the language, customs and culture of your new environment. Sometimes the immigrant feels overwhelmed and wants to throw in the towel and give up. Therefore, it is important to remind them of their WHY – the reason they immigrated in the first place. Besides,
